How to enable jack-sense audio support for Sony Vaio notebooks in Kubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron

Add line
options snd-hda-intel model=vaio
into your /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

Restart alsa:
sudo alsa force-reload
